About the speaker
Mike Knoop, Co-founder at Zapier
Mike is the Co-founder at Zapier, a web service to automate parts of your work. Early in his career, Mike expanded his interest in technology by becoming a moderator for the Facebook developer forums and community. In October 2011, he attended a Startup Weekend with Wade Foster and Bryan Helmig, both of whom he’d met while working part-time at Veterans United in college. Over the next 48 hours, they built and pitched the first demo of what is now Zapier.
The three of them kept working on it and things were going really well. They had a few hundred paid beta customers and a product close to launch. By this point, he had stopped going to his graduate classes and was full time into Zapier. The team then joined the YC S12 batch.
Today, Zapier is an eighty-person team with over 1.5 million users.
